Book Review: The Women by Kristin Hannah
There are always some books out there that will be phenomenal and one-of-a-kind. We think The Women written by Kristin Hannah is one such book. The author has done great in her writing, trying to share with readers a story of war but not just that, at a time when Women were also there but not even talked about for many narrow-minded reasons.
The author has vividly portrayed a story of one woman that mirrors the experiences and hardships that the women had faced as they went to war in Vietnam when they returned from war, and even when their hardships were denied and what they had gained wasn’t a heroes respect but as an embarrassment to the society.

Kristin Hannah has done a good job writing The Women. The reason is, that the themes we found in this book have great synergy with one another. With how intricately these themes were connected, the work of the author was truly phenomenal.
The book has war in it so of course it has the themes of Trauma and resilience, not to mention PTSD. we see the main character nicknamed Frankie battling with these aspects that her life is being invaded with. The time she feels helpless as if any and all of her experiences from before are useless in war.
The long and hard times in war provided her with just as many friends. When Frankie was feeling low, her life was getting more and more traumatizing, the bonds that she created with her fellow nurses showcased the themes of friendship and camaraderie. The author has greatly featured how these bonds made them strong.
Another massive theme of this book is the impact of war. The aftereffects of the Vietnam War presented a unique realism to her writing, each of the events that dictated their lives after the war, even when they had left that life behind but were haunted by it. The author has showcased the themes of the impact of the war.
We can’t forget about the themes that relate this story to love, loss, and betrayal. The book showcases how Frankie goes through her life and finds love, sees betrayal, and changes with time. Book Review: The Women by Kristin Hannah- Plots
The Women by Kristin Hannah book has a fascinating plot, which many have even been called spot on. The book’s number of good reviews for its plot can’t be counted. It was simply perfect some say.
The book tells the story of one woman from the sixties as she goes to war following her brother. the life that her parents selected for her could only have been the complete opposite. Frankie had to go through a lot of struggles to even go to war, to find that glory she saw and catch it for herself.
But The author starts off right here, Frankie’s struggles and tragic life had just started now. She who only had come out of nursing school had been thrown into a camp full of injured men hanging on the door of death. She found the reality of war, where strong friendships can crumble like glass, the rules of society barely seen.
The desperation seen in the plot was a masterful work from the author. That goes on as more of the book you read. But just when life seemed to become too hard to bear, human resilience came into play, the author flawlessly brought out Frankie’s resilience as she gets to find her lifelong friends.

They weren’t war veterans but as women who had gone to war, they were more of an embarrassment.
