Icebreaker Book Review of It’s Themes
The Icebreaker is a complex book, and its complexity is what makes it so appealing to read. But you know the complexity we see might not be that complex. Knowing about the themes that we experience by reading The Icebreaker would help you understand it better, so let’s divulge into them a little more:
Ambition and the Longing for Excellence: The Icebreaker is a book that thoroughly tells its readers what humans can do when their ambition and longing reach their peak. Of course, not only that, but the perseverance to follow through with that ambition showcases the longing for excellence. In this book, through the main character Anastasia Allen, we clearly see her grit and ambition to make it big as a competitive figure skater. The book fascinatingly showcases these themes making it a phenomenal read, even encouraging our own ambitions within ourselves.
Passion for Sports isn’t to be taken Lightly: The Icebreaker is a sports romance, so sure sports and the passion for it play a large part in this book’s themes. Not only Anastasia in figure staking but also Nate in hockey is seen as they give their hundred percent to their pursuits of being the best. We also see how they clearly sacrifice for their crafts, they go through such emotional highs and lows, depending on their results, leaving their characters in the book that much more deep to understand.
Fates Game We All Play: The book works fascinatingly as both Anastasia’s and Nate’s worlds collide with one another because of fate’s work at play. The author did not falter in this hard task and delivered a story that truly showcased just how they understand one another in a new way. They both are devoted to their fields and when they notice one another from a new light, a fascinating new connection forms.
The Vulnerability from Love: Anastasia and Nate both are devoted to their crafts, which means they work extremely hard to achieve the best results, but emotional highs and lows can be a large factor when we consider performance. Love is already a feeling that makes people vulnerable, it means to open up and let your significant other know you more sincerely. When we consider how our main characters are striving for something, this vulnerability only increases, and they also know that. The author lets readers realize that even with these fears at play, both Anastasia and Nate didn’t shy away.
Sports Means Team: The book Icebreaker did not shy away from creating a plethora of characters, each of which adds a new depth to the main characters and the story as a whole. Hannah Grace showcased her writing prowess by not only making these interesting characters but also bringing them together, which only added that much emotion and deeper narrative to the book as a whole. So we can happily say the theme of having a team in sports and how that can make a difference in the story as a whole came across masterfully.
Icebreaker Book Review Of it’s Plots
Icebreaker is a large book, as a sports romance, it has 450 pages worth of story meaning it’s probably a hundred pages larger than the norm. Some people can find that to be a bit annoying, a compact yet meaningful read is what most of us want.
But we also can’t let go of all the scrumptious fillers, in any case, the opinions can vary from person to person. On the other hand, the book is laced with complex emotions, misunderstandings, love, and hate, of course, it’s gonna take that many pages to untangle or maybe tangle it up even more.
The book presents an enemy to lovers settings and somehow follows through the narrative. It could have been better, the reason why Anastasia hates Nate seems a bit over the top, and also about the fact that the synopsis tells us about how Anastasia has to team up with Nate. it’s a plot that the readers can only find once they are halfway through the book.
That aside, the book’s plot did flow naturally, like how Anastasia slowly found a middle ground with Nate as they came to practice in the same field. On the other hand, Aaron who is Aanastasia’s skating partner made too much drama, we can even say, that even Anastasia herself wasn’t that dramatic. Nate is probably the only character that pulled most of the readers to keep reading this book.
In any case, Anastasia may not be the best heroine out there, but some of her aspects indeed attracted readers, like how she was always on point, straightforward was her character’s settings, and the author flawlessly made use of that. The plot became that much more spicy because of Anastasia’s attitude. On the other hand, Nate’s warm nature was covered up throughout the story, and when it made an appearance, it clearly turned things around.
We could say that the Plot might be bland and too dramatic on some pages, but all in all, the characters each had their own ups and downs, their attitude and how their chemistry worked with one another beautified this whole book.
we could say that it would be a satisfying read for any sports romance lover, and would definitely recommend it as some of the best reads out there released in the latest times.
